What I think of the Adidas Leistung 16.2 Should You Buy This Shoe? What are the benefits?

Should I buy [insert brand of Weightlifting shoe]? Or What do you think of [insert brand of Weightlifting shoe]?

People ask me these questions all the time and my answer hasn’t changed much; Adidas.

I have nothing personal against NIKE, I just prefer the Adidas brand and I’ll explain in this post.

Adidas has been one of the original makers of Weightlifting boots for decades, and you can’t go wrong with German engineering.

Adidas has made some big surges in the Weightlifting market over past few years.

The Leistung 16.2 are the newest shoe model from Adidas Weightlifting. The 16.2 looks similar to its predecessor, the Leistung 16.1, but the difference is the new Adidas POWERWEAVE technology. The POWERWEAVE material upper ensures stability, comfort, and breathability.

The new BOA is a powerful closure system made from aircraft-grade stainless steel is a much cooler way to connect your feet with your shoes. The strapless system seems to be the standard closure system for the Adidas Weightlifting shoes, so I’m not sure if we’ll ever see another strap-system shoe.

The Leistung 16.2 come with the standard thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) midsole and a padded heel lining for more comfort.

I’ve tested these shoes for a little over a month and I give them an 8/10 rating.

I would personally recommend the Leistung 16.2 for several reasons that I mentioned in the video above:

  • They look very modern, may help to appeal to younger lifters
  • Higher heel height
  • There’s lots of Technology in this shoe
  • The shoes are really comfortable
